The Ritual of the Dark Altar - A Dangerous Easter Egg in Citadelle des Morts
Another Easter egg that has sent players into a frenzy is the ritual at the Dark Altar. This hidden, dangerous task can only be completed if you know exactly where to go and what to do, and even then, it’s a risky endeavor that requires both skill and strategy.

The Dark Altar is located in a hidden chamber beneath the Citadelle, only accessible by completing a series of tasks scattered across the map. To find the entrance, players need to collect four special items, each hidden in different parts of the map. These items are small but significant—like an obsidian dagger, a golden pendant, a cursed scroll, and a blood-stained vial. Once all four items are gathered, players must place them on specific altars that appear only during certain times of the day, such as dusk or dawn. If you perform this ritual correctly, the entrance to the hidden chamber will open, and you’ll find the Dark Altar waiting for you.
At the altar, players are tasked with performing another ritual to summon an otherworldly entity. This entity, known only as the "Watcher," is a powerful being that controls the flow of time and space within the Citadelle. To survive the encounter with the Watcher, players need to solve complex puzzles while fending off waves of zombies that are summoned as part of the ritual. The Watcher’s presence distorts the environment, making it harder to see or hear, which adds an extra layer of challenge.
If you manage to defeat the Watcher, you’ll unlock the most powerful weapon in the game—a relic gun that fires beams of pure energy, capable of decimating entire hordes of zombies in a single shot. But this power comes at a cost. Players who wield the weapon report a strange side effect: the game’s time loop becomes increasingly unstable, with enemies respawning faster and more aggressively.
Has anyone dared to attempt the ritual at the Dark Altar? I’m still working on gathering the items, but I’ve heard it’s one of the most rewarding (and terrifying) Easter eggs in the game.
